Who is the training for?
This training is designed for anyone that wants an introduction into HR without committing to formal qualifications. Maybe you want to explore a HR career path, part of your role involves elements of HR or you are planning on opening a HR entity. This training will give you an overall feel for UK HR and explain the most important points of UK employment law.
What will you learn?
This course provides a practical introduction to UK human resources and employment law. It will cover critical compliance and core rights, upcoming changes you need to look out for, employee relations and workplace standards and elements of reward/payroll.

Course Outline
We will cover over the course of the day:
- What HR does in the UK and why it matters.
- UK employment law essentials such as key contractual terms, protected characteristics and employee rights.*
- Mandatory pay, reward and payroll elements.
- Managing people fairly and effectively.
- HR Compliance and keeping up to date.
If you have a specific topic you are interested in, please discuss before the training as we may be able to include it in the session.
*This course is UK-focused, with particular emphasis on employment law and workplace practices applicable in England and Wales. While many of the principles discussed will be relevant across the UK, there are differences in employment legislation and legal processes in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The training is intended as practical learning and general guidance and should not be considered a substitute for specific legal advice.

Who will be your trainer?
Georgina is an experienced HR professional and has led HR functions within growing UK and global businesses. She holds a CIPD Level 7 in Strategic People Management and has hands-on experience developing HR strategies, advising leaders on UK employment law, building HR infrastructure and managing people across complex, multi-site and international environments.
She has also advised international games studios on establishing a UK presence, providing practical guidance on UK employment law, HR best practice, and building compliant, commercially- effective people strategies.
Her practical, commercially-focused approach means this course goes beyond theory, using real world HR experiences to explain how UK HR works in practice.
