Understand neurodiversity, build inclusive management skills, and learn practical ways to support neurodivergent colleagues in the workplace.

Neurodiversity is an important part of creating an inclusive and supportive workplace. This practical training session will help managers understand a range of neurodivergent variations and consider how differences in communication, concentration, organisation, sensory processing and working styles may affect an individual’s experience at work.

The session will introduce the legal considerations surrounding neurodiversity and practical advice on reasonable adjustments and how neurodiversity should be considered within your people processes at work.

Who is the training for?

Managers and leaders who want to gain more confidence in their approach to managing individuals and teams with neurodiversity.

What will you learn?

By the end of the session, you will have a practical understanding of neurodiversity and how it can affect people differently in the workplace. We will work through different types of neurodiversity, how they may present at work and what support you should consider. We will look at some real life examples and some case law around the subject to ensure you go away from the training knowing your responsibilities within employment law as well as UK best practice

Course Outline

We will cover over the course of the day:

  • What is Neurodiversity
  • What your responsibilities are within UK employment law.*
  • An in depth look into 3-4 different varieties of neurodiversity and some practical advice on how to support individuals in the work place.
  • When to escalate and when to seek support.

If you have a specific topic you are interested in, please discuss before the training as we may be able to include it in the session.

*This course is UK-focused, with particular emphasis on employment law and workplace practices applicable in England and Wales. While many of the principles discussed will be relevant across the UK, there are differences in employment legislation and legal processes in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The training is intended as practical learning and general guidance and should not be considered a substitute for specific legal advice.

Who will be your trainer?

Georgina is an experienced HR professional and has led HR functions within growing UK and global businesses. She holds a CIPD Level 7 in Strategic People Management and has hands-on experience advising leaders on UK employment law, and managing people across complex environments.

Georgina takes a practical, people-focused approach to HR, using her experience of working directly with managers and employees to provide realistic strategies that can be applied in the workplace..
